Chapters Night Fundraiser for John English THIS THURSDAY!

Location: Chapters across from Sherway Gardens
Get a jump on your Holiday shopping next Thursday, November 8th from 6 to 9 pm – it is Chapters Night for John English at Chapters on the Queensway across from Sherway Gardens. Chapters donates a percentage from each sale to John English! Just tell the cashier that you are there for the John English Fundraiser. Please note that gift cards and coupon purchases are not eligible for the fundraiser.

This is a special meeting for parents to learn about Bill 115, the current labour situation, and how it is affecting our children. Parents have been expressing a need to know more, and also a desire to minimize the effects of the situation on our children. Representatives from the teachers’ union and Laurel Broten’s office will be here to take your questions.
Scholastic Book Fair November 12 – 16
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

This is an awesome opportunity for kids to purchase books from Scholastic at great prices. There will be an English and a French book sale.

Dr Karyn Gordon speaks about Raising Teens – Nov. 15

With funds from this year’s PRO grant, Dr. Karyn Gordon will give a talk to parents on managing life with teenagers on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. The exact topic will be either “Motivating Your Teen” or “Inspiring Youth to Reach Their Career Potential”. TDSB Parent Engagement Conference – Nov. 17

The TDSB`s 6th Annual Parent Involvement Makes a Difference Conference: “Parent Engagement and the Achievement Gap”.

All it takes is One Friend – Book Launch

Heather Rankin will be reading from her recently published book “All it Takes is One Friend”, a book about Friendship, bullying and self esteem. Heather has a special craft to follow to accompany the book for a special memento. Snacks will also be provided. This book launch is geared to primary school children, parents & teachers – the author will be talking about friendship & bullying. Heather Rankin is an amazing teacher and educator, who has worked as a primary school teacher and educator of children for 20 years. This would be really great for anyone with young children to attend. Heather Rankin There is space for 30 children & their parents.
