John English School Advisory Council Fundraising Contribution

Parents, Caregivers and Students,

Welcome back to another great school year at John English! For families and students that have just joined us – Welcome to the school!!

Over the course of the school year, fundraisers take place to help cover meaningful programs that might not be fully covered by the school budget. These programs include skating, Scientists in the School, the Ukelele program and additional support for classrooms. The following fundraising initiatives are planned to take place over the course of the 2015-16 school year:


Based on the positive response to this initiative, we are continuing the option to forward a one time fundraising contribution per family in lieu of participation in other fundraisers. Although any amount that is suitable for your family is much appreciated, the suggested minimum contribution is $40 per family.

The funds will be collected in the classroom and are due by Monday October 26th. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this contribution will come back to the school.

If you wish to receive a tax receipt for this contribution, please do/note the following:

  • Make cheque payable to: The Toronto District School Board – John English JMS
  • Payment must be in the form of a cheque to receive a tax receipt
  • Your name and address must be on the cheque
  • Cheques must be for the amount of $25 or higher
  • Cheques received by John English after December 1st will not be guaranteed deposit before the end of the calendar year (although we will try our best to deposit)

The SAC Fundraising committee will record all tax receipt requests in the event that follow-up is required.

*At this time we are unable to filter the families participating in the contribution from the distribution of fundraising materials. These materials will still be sent home with the students but can be discarded if you do not wish to participate.
