Friday, November 11, 2016 – John English Friday Update

Remembrance Day Ceremony: On November 11th at 10:30 a.m. John English students and guests filled the auditorium to participate in our Remembrance Day Ceremony to honour and remember those who gave their lives to defend and protect the rights and freedoms that we enjoy each and every day as Canadians. The solemn occasion which included speaking presentations, songs of remembrance and interpretive dance helped to provide context to the importance of our Remembrance Day activities. We thank our many student speakers, our chorus and our dancers for their efforts and determination. We are appreciative of the efforts of Ms. McLeggon, Mme Trudeau, Mme Gitto, Ms McWhinnie and the many other teachers who assisted with the day’s ceremony.

John English Staff Support Movember Initiative: Don’t be surprised by the increase in facial hair amongst the male staff members of John English. November is the month that is dedicated to raise awareness about prostate cancer. The John English team is hoping to raise awareness for this worthy cause. The ‘John English Mini Mo’ team website is located at https://ca.movember.com/team/2253864 where weekly photographs will be posted of the team.
