Grade 7 and 8 Science Fair – Thursday, April 27th: You have seen our students working on their science fair projects, you can now see them all on display. On Thursday, April 27th in the school cafeteria our students’ science work will be on display. Grade 8 work will be available in the morning and our Grade 7 work will be on display in the afternoon. Parents are invited to attend the viewing and to learn interesting science. Please see the attached flyer.

Immunization Grade 7 and 8: Toronto Public Health nurses will be in the school on Friday, April 28th to administer the second dose of Hepatitis B vaccine to Grade 7 students, a second dose of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to Grade 7 students and Grade 8 female students and they will also immunize Grade 7 and 8 students who missed their hepatitis B, meningococcal, and human papillomavirus vaccines at earlier scheduled clinics.

Community Clean-Up Day: Thank you to all the students who took time today to venture out in the community and assisted with our community clean up. Taking pride in one’s neighbourhood, taking care of the neighbourhood and helping others is an important character trait as we become citizens of our community. We thank Ms. West and our Eco team of students for organizing the clean-up activities.

Dental Screening: During the past two weeks, the Toronto Public Dental hygienist was visiting the school and examining each of our students. Regular dental check-ups are important for all children. If your child does not have a regular dentist, parents looking for a dental clinic can contact ‘Dental and Oral Health Services’ – LAMP CHC at 416-252-8576 to make an appointment if necessary. A list of free dental care locations is also attached.

Sports Update: Our track and field and Ultimate Frisbee seasons are just beginning. Tryouts for both teams have been happening this week and will continue next week. We look forward to a successful spring sports season.
