Our School Yard is for Play: Parents and students we need your help. We have a wonderful schoolyard that is a great place for our students to play during the day. We do our very best to keep it clean, tidy and safe. Some members of the community like to use our enclosed school yard as a dog run during the early morning and evening hours. Unfortunately, in some cases dog owners are negligent and do not pick up after their dog. We ask that if you walk your dog through the school yard that you are considerate of the play area for our children. If you have neighbours please remind them that the school yard needs to be clean and tidy for our students.

School Winter Concert: Wednesday, December 13th is the day that has been set aside for the John English Winter Concert. The Kindergarten to Grade 5 and Grade 8 Band concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. with our Kindergarten students leading the way. Unfortunately due to Ms. Christmas’ illness the Grade 8 Strings group will not be performing at this time. Please take note of the time change. In an earlier update the start time was incorrectly listed as 7:00 p.m. Please remember that the school parking lot will be full with staff vehicles. Parents are encouraged to walk or park on the side streets in the neighbourhood. We ask, if you are able to do so, that parents bring a non-perishable food item for our food drive. Donations will be accepted at the door. We look forward to seeing you this evening.

Assembly Hall Art Show: Congratulations to all the students who submitted artwork for consideration and to those 10 students who had their work chosen for display. Over 10 different schools sent artwork to the committee for review. John English will be sending two students; Amalia M. – Honorable Mention – Most Festive and Fiona B. – Winner – Most Wintry to the awards ceremony on December 18th. All of our students can be proud of the wonderful art work that was submitted supporting this community showcase.

Toy Drive: John English has been asked to support the Toronto Police 22 Division 2017 Christmas Toy Drive.
